TYLER-TEZENO_150_4_4The West Virginia staff has continued to make progress recruiting the state of Texas, and that process took another step forward today with the commitment of Tyler Tezeno.

Tezeno, 6-foot-3, 290 pounds becomes the sixth verbal pledge in the 2013 recruiting class. He also becomes the seconds offensive line commit.

The talented big man took to twitter to express his happiness in choosing his college destination.

Now officially a West Virginia Mountaineer! #WVU #blessed - Tyler Tezeno

Rated as a 3-star prospect by Scout.com, Tezeno chose the Mountaineers over a list of several high profile offers. That list was led by LSU and included Arizona State, Washington State, Indiana and Northwestern.

Although he hasn't visited Morgantown before, Tezeno says he knows a lot about Mountaineer football.

"Me and my dad and my brother are watching college football all the time and West Virginia is always one of those big names out there that you know about," Tezeno told wvillustrated.com. "From day one when they offered me and I told my dad about it, he was like, 'Man, that's some big-time football.'

He is projected to play either guard or center for West Virginia. And working with offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh is something he's looking forward to.

He said I'm a great fit. Just my athleticism and stuff, I'd be a great fit," says Tezeno. "He also said he thinks I'm a little more mature in my football, so I'd probably have a chance to get in early and make a difference."

Outside of a trip to Morgantown this season, you can expect Tezeno's recruitment to be finished.

"I'm excited to be a Mountaineer."
