darren_kelley_2"Amazing!"

That's how Owings Mills HS (MD) athlete Darren Kelley would describe his recent visit to WVU. He was on hand Saturday to participate in camp, showcase his skills, and hopefully catch the eye of Mountaineer coaches.

Kelley, 6-foot-1 190 pounds, worked out in the defensive secondary.

"It went pretty good. There was good competition out there and I only allowed one pass to be caught."

And if his performance wasn't enough, he even heard positive feedback from Mountaineer assistant coach, Daron Roberts.

"He had good comments to say. It was nice."

The two-way athlete says WVU is taking interest in him as an outside linebacker or safety. But he'll play anywhere he's needed.

One connection Kelley has to WVU is through a former teammate and current Mountaineer, Jarrod Harper.

"I'm very close with him. We're like best friends."

Kelley is currently drawing interest from Rutgers, James Madison, ECU and Towson in addition to the 'Eers.

He plans to visit Morgantown again, hopefully during the season. One likely date is the season opener against Marshall.
