Honus "The Dude" Sneed shares with us a copy of the "Dear John" letter WVU is sending to the Big East today.

****

Dear John:

As I sat down to write this letter I remembered how much fun we had when it all began in 1995. We had such good times despite the Hurricanes and Hokie attacks. We did a lot of growing up together and although it was tough at times we always felt we were moving in the right direction.

Then we started to worry that you were paying too much attention to those people in Providence and Georgetown. We couldn’t believe you would take their side over ours and I was astounded when you caved into those nuts in South Bend.

Still we stood by your side. We stood by your side  even when your immaturity lead to almost half of us leaving to join those jerks down on Tobacco Road.  We even saved your reputation by whipping up on those Bulldogs, Sooners and Tigers who disrespected you so.

But we’ve finally had enough. We can’t trust you to make the right decisions and lookout for everyone’s best interests, and frankly, we think you are slumming when go out and invite that CUSA and Mountain West trash to our party.

So we’re leaving now. Our bags are packed and we’re headed out west. You will never see us again.  Please do not call or write and we even think it best if you remove us from your record books.

We understand we’re leaving you in a bad spot but you will notice we’ve included a check that should help you get by until you merge with the MAC or CUSA.

Goodbye, good luck and I hope you enjoy your December Championship game in New York City.

Cordially,

West Virginia University
